RESTAURACIÓN Y CONSERVACIÓN DEL SUELO Y EL AGUA PATRIMONIO NATURAL UNA NUEVA VISIÓN DE SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE

La asociación civil Salvemos al Río Laja y su programa Cuenca Sana Comunidad Sana, parten del conocimiento socioambiental profundo y técnico de la biodiversidad y los ecosistemas para proteger y expandir los hábitats en la Subcuenca Alta del Río Laja, en el norte de Guanajuato. Su objetivo es conservar estos espacios como “corredores hidrobiológicos” que mantienen la biodiversidad y promueven la salud del ecosistema y de las comunidades. Jalil Aragón, coordinadora de programas, comenta: “Mucho se habla del Patrimonio Cultural e Histórico de San Miguel de Allende, pero poco del Patrimonio Natural y la ‘fórmula mágica’ que lo sostiene. Los servicios ambientales —como suelos que sostienen árboles, infiltran agua y permiten la polinización— son esenciales para el aire limpio, el agua y los alimentos que benefician a las comunidades rurales y la Ciudad Patrimonio”. – The civil association Salvemos al Río Laja and its program Cuenca Sana Comunidad Sana (Healthy Watershed, Healthy Community) utilize in-depth socio-environmental and technical knowledge of biodiversity and ecosystems, to protect and expand habitats in the upper sub-basin of the Laja River in northern Guanajuato. Its goal is to conserve these spaces as “hydrobiological corridors” that maintain biodiversity and promote ecosystem and community health. Jalil Aragón, program coordinator, comments: “Much is said about San Miguel de Allende’s cultural and historical heritage, but little about its natural heritage and the ‘magic formula’ that sustains it. Environmental services – such as soil that supports trees, infiltrates water and allows pollination – are essential for the clean air, water and food that benefit rural communities and the Heritage City.”
